It was a birthday party they will never forget, but Bill Austin nor country music artist Aaron Tippin was the man of the hour.  Instead, they  had the privileged to meet a mutual hero, and world-renowned pilot, Bob Hoover on this 90th birthday.  Hoover, a native of Tennessee, has both an incredible history of military and civilian piloting.  Hoover was shot down during WWII and was held prisoner for 16 months until he escaped.  Commandeering a German plane in the process, Hoover flew to the Netherlands, effectively rescuing himself in the process.  His civilian career was just as impressive.  Hoover’s leadership helped to bring air shows to the level of popularity that they enjoy today.  To read more, visit the Wikipedia page about Bob Hoover.
